Saturday 29th July sees the return of the second annual music and family day, organised and in aid of Charity Trust, Smile4Claire.
Building on their successes from last year, this event is shaping up to be another fantastic occasion, that all the local community are quick to support and enjoy the day.
The event will be held once again at Bishop Auckland Cricket Club, with the event starting from 1pm onwards, with a wide range of live music and attractions that the whole family can enjoy.
Smile4Claire is a charity trust that was formed to honour the memory of Claire Shaw who sadly died last year from breast cancer which had spread to her brain.
Claire was a caring nurse and a popular friend that everyone loved, and from what her husband Andrew has told me about her I wish I could have met her, she sounds like she was a lovely person, who had a heart of gold, and touched the lives of many.
Claire was a naturally caring and optimistic person, who always went out of her way to help others and was rarely without a smile on her face.
The Smile4Claire Trust which is led by Claire’s husband Andrew, and friends Peter Baker and Jonathan Dixon, raise funds for local charities, as well as individuals and families affected by cancer and other serious illnesses.
Supporters of Smile4Claire have participated in a number of varied charity challenges since the trust has been formed including;
Last year’s music and family fun day.
Charity Night with a live band and auction.
Coast to Coast Bike Ride
Charity Football Matches
Along with 8 brave and willing supporters who signed up to take part in a skydive earlier this year.
The trust managed to raise a total of £7,035 last year, and are looking to raise a total of £10,000 this year.
